Lalique 'Moissac' Vase
Item 3207
An early post war opalescent glass vase moulded in relief with interlacing leaves. This design was first introduced by René Lalique in 1927 without a foot. Marc Lalique reintroduced the model in the 1940s with a foot. Early post-war signature Lalique, France.
French, Circa 1945-1950.
At the end of WWII & with the death of René Lalique in 1945, his son Marc resumed production and for a short period continued to produce the pre-war designs. The pieces simply had the letter 'R' dropped from the signature. At some point in time during the 1950s, he switched production to 24% lead crystal (from demi-crystal). At this point on, all output was signed 'Cristal Lalique'.
