Signed 'Van Der Staeten' in the metal.

- Georges van der Straeten was a Belle Epoque sculptor born in Ghent, Belgium. He studied under the Neo-Baroque sculptor, Jef Lambeaux (1852-1908). In 1883, at the age of twenty-seven, Van der Straeten moved to Paris.
CONDITION: Good antique condition with wear & marks to patination which may have been gilt at one stage.
