$1245 AUD
Item 2907
A cameo vase of mottled orange & yellow glass overlaid with deep red / brown then acid etched with a lake scene, wading cattle, trees and mountains. Signed 'Degué' in cameo.
French, Circa 1920.
** David Guéron (1892 – 1950) produced glass in the 1920s & 30s and mostly signed 'Degué' , which was a contraction of his first & last names. His designs covered most the decorative styles of glass that were popularised by glassmakers such Gallé, Rene lalique, Daum Freres & Charles Schneider and were considered mostly derivative. However, Gueron did produce some exceptional original glass designs especially during his collaboration with sculptor & ceramicist, Édouard Cazaux (1889-1974). The glassworks closed down prior to the outbreak of the Second World War.
